The whole point is that writing has a pattern and life hasn’t. Life is so untidy. Art is so short and life so long. It is not possible to have perfection in life but it is possible to have perfection in a novel.’- Elizabeth Taylor

R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011

Elizabeth Taylor passed away at 79 years old of congestive heart failure. She is a mega star to me and always will be one of many inspirational women in this industry. Her life was a little bit “out there” but I believe she led an honest and adventurous life and no one should judge her. She married and re-married many a time and had her self in the scrutiny of public eye because of her celebrity relationships. She was known for her beauty as a model and her character as an actress from her childhood to adult years.  She was an author as well writing children’s books and books about her perceptions in life. The style of jewelry she wore from the pear shaped diamond to the extravagant head pieces made a wave in the fashion circuit. Her fragrance line became the favorite for many  women. She was an outspoken female who stood up for what others were too scared to believe in. Instead of throwing negative perceptions of a legend around people should take the time to learn what she went through and who she really was. She was truly an icon in Hollywood. My next photo shoot will be dedicated to Elizabeth Taylor. We are all human, and Elizabeth Taylor was as real as they come.

First everyone is wondering where Amber Rose was going and who she was meeting with, then they also ask Rosa Acosta who she is there to see. Rosa was wearing a newsprint dress and comes across as very girlie…yet as soon as the doors open these two ladies kiss for the cameras. I think it was a publicity stunt because there was no real emotion in it, or tongue…having watched both Amber and Rosa’s dating habits I say they may have wanted some spotlight back and planned this… what do you think??

Via “Latin Gossip” Eva Longoria is in a legal mess. Beso, the Las Vegas nightspot she invested in, is bankrupt and now her business partner is suing her for fraud! (this is crazy). He claims that Eva loaned him one million dollars with the expectation that he would pay back over 4 million in two years. He now thinks that isn’t ethical. It is a big return and since things have turned sour, he is now suing her for 4 million dollars himself. (Or maybe he just doesn’t know how to run a business and is attacking her for his losses?) Hmmmm I wonder.

The trio The Corp Cartel hailing from the Washington Heights section of Manhattan is bringing their funky futuristic sound and style to the streets. Jonathan “Jaywise” Perez 27 , Mark “Tana” Melendez 27 and Alex “Chaos” Dore also 27 make up The Corp Cartel.

They were known individually for their MC skills in their own hoods and when they met they took it to the next level and created a mega group. “Originally The Corporation was the real name of our team and we just took over in every aspect of the way and while doing that we figured we had everything else on lockdown why not take over the music game as well. so with that being said we started a new addition to the
Corporation and shortened the name to The Corp. and added the Cartel due to our take charge attitude.”

The Corp Cartel has won the Latin Hip Hop Artist Award at the New York Underground Music Awards, they have performed at the Tribeca Film Festival and the 10th Annual New York Latino Film Festival presented by HBO.

“We had the inspiration, drive and dedication to take it to the next level and refused to be taken lightly.”

They have been working extremely hard and have a lot to show for it.

In 2005 they released their first mix tape installment entitled Unsigned Heights Vol. 1 with the late DJ Carl Blaze followed by Vol. 2 and in 2008 their single “Do You Want Me,” hit the independent charts.

Within the last few years they have had the opportunity to work with DJ Enuff, the late DJ Carl Blaze, DJ Prostyle, Crowdmover LBoogs and DJ Green Latern . Producers: Rockwilder, Kane Beatz, Michael “Seven” Summers and XV and as well as a few clothing lines such as: Sabit, Lavie, Gifted Elite, Kid Robot, Brian Wood, Dirty Jax and Orisue to name just a few of the ppl they have worked with in the entertainment and fashion world. The grind never stops with The Corp Cartel they continue to give Hip Hop a new sound and look.

This year The Corp Cartel plans to drop the their first album “The Corp Cartel on Deck: The World Series,” where the single “On Deck,” has been a hit.

In between working as a group they will also be working on solo albums. Jaywise currently released his single “Foolish Things,” and the video and song can be found on

November is Hip Hop History Month and I had the pleasure of attending an official Zulu Nation 37th Anniversary event at The Hip Hop Culture Center at Magic Johnson Theater in Harlem NYC.

My personal VIP invitation came from no other than Supreme Selo and Lord Yoda of Zulu themselves. The event was a peaceful unity among all that believe in what Zulu has to offer and Hip Hop in our society. We were accompanied by all our friends such as Afrika Bambaata, Black Spades, Gustapos, DJ Johnny Juice, Cheesecake RSC, BPS Productions, Straightman, Elijio Rivera “Jinx the tee shirt king”, Ness, Pop Master Fabel, Ice T, Coco Chanel, Beenie Siegel, Big Daddy Kane, Immortal Technique, The Cold Crush Brothers, and so many more.

I got to catch a tag on a soon to be piece of memorabilia from the event..

I made myself useful for a while helping Jinx the Tee Shirt King with his vendor table and convinced a kid to buy the last shirt in a size small.. he changed on the spot proud to rep for the anniversary!

It was packed to the tee with vendors selling Zulu memorabilia, artwork, good food, hip hop gear, drinks etc. I had some rice and peas, mac and cheese and jerk chicken ..and umm a nutcracker SHHHHHHH 😉

I also got some shirts courtesy of Jinx the Tee Shirt King.. it was a great night!

A new liquor by Ice T was on display and came in all different types of bottles or containers shaped like everyday items such as a cane that easily slides open to reveal the drink, or a high heel shaped bottle..DOPENESS!!!!

Performances ensued thru the evening and I have photos to show coming up soon.. let’s just say it was the illest lineup and if you missed it your probably under a rock! I wont get too crazy with details.. but I will say someone made a statement “You wont hear any of that young money-lil wayne or nicki minaj up in here .. this is TRUE HIP HOP!” and I lost it laughing to myself.. there are so many people who idolize Young Money lately and have no idea about Hip Hop History.. I appreciate the old and the new but I LOVE The true!!

So much to write so little time I will be back with an update and edit this post JUST FOR YOU!!

Peace and Blessings .. Jackie da Model aka BABY J! 😉
